Minister Sutanovac in Algeria: Great possibilities for cooperation

Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac stated today that both Serbia and Algeria had good prospects achieving excellent military-economical cooperation, which could yield good economical profits to both countries in near future.

Sutanovac who is in an official visit to Algeria, met with the Defense Minister of this country Abdelmalek Guenaizia, expressing his pleasure at seeing both countries embarking on long-term partnership.
Along with the meetings with Minister Guenaizia, we had other meetings relating to military economical cooperation which, we hold, will be very promising in the long-run in the state of Algeria, and which would engage a large capacity of metal industry of Serbia in near future to both countries’ pleasure and benefit”, as minister Sutanovac says.

"We got assurances regarding future Serbian-Algerian cooperation that Algeria chose Serbia as its long-term partner in the area of defense and we believe that it could be a strong propellant of economic cooperation in general.”

Minister Sutanovac reminded that Algeria was one of Serbia’s greatest partners in the field of defense in the whole north African region, and that the traditionally long-standing cooperation of many years had been additionally improved by having Algerian army members at studies in our military schools, “as Minister said.

The delegation headed by the minister of economy Mladjan Dinkic had a number of meetings but what is even more important there is a great possibility that both countries will see huge economic benefits from this cooperation.

State-economical delegation of Serbia made up of representatives of 60 most powerful Serbian companies started a three-day visit to Algeria during which they would discus and consider possibilities for economical cooperation of the two countries.

Visit of the Algerian delegation

Within the bilateral military cooperation plan, the Strategic Planning Department of the Defence Policy Sector of the Ministry of Defence held a two-day expert talks with the delegation of the Ministry of National Defense of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Algeria.

The delegation of the Ministry of Defence of Serbia led by the Chief of the Strategic Planning Major General Dr. Bozidar Forca, with the representatives of the Strategic Planning Directorate for the Organization of the International Military Cooperation and the Institute of Strategic Research as participants. A three-member delegation of the Ministry of Defence of Algeria was led by Colonel Mohamed Benmousat, in charge of the strategic business planning and international military cooperation.


The meeting also focused on exchanging information on strategic planning in the defense and areas and forms of cooperation were determined during the talks .

Both delegations expressed great satisfaction over the improvement of the development of relations between the Republic of Serbia and Algeria, especially in the defense area.

Minister Sutanovac presents diplomas to Algerian postgraduate officers

Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac presented today at the Great Hall OF old HQ Master of Science in Technical Sciences to twenty officers of the National Army of Algeria, who obtained this degree in a joint degree program of the Military Academy and the Military Technical Institute.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Mourad Medelci. During the this 18-month study program the Algerian officers attended a total of 2,500 classes and lectures given by some 70 renowned speakers from the Military Academy, VTI and civilian faculties.

Sutanovac congratulated the new Masters of Science , and expressed satisfaction with the results achieved during their studies. He expressed confidence that the young officers will serve their nation in the best possible way by building good relations between Serbia and Algeria for many years. He said that the study program had started over three years ago by the signing of an agreement between the two defense ministers, supported by the heads of state of Serbia and Algeria. Sutanovac stressed that this was only the beginning of the relations between the two countries and that soon a new group of cadets and officers from this African country is expected to come to Serbia.

Furthermore, Minister thanked the Foreign Minister of Algeria Medelci for the trust deposited in Serbia to educate their young officers. He pointed out that this was a big commitment of the Serbian defense system which would strive to make all efforts within the framework of future cooperation to meet the needs of Algerian graduate officers enriching their army and government with new knowledge.

Minister Medelci on his part expressed great satisfaction with having been given a rare opportunity to attend a ceremony which at the same time marks, cooperation and friendship between the two countries. He recalled the strong historical links of Algeria and our country. The Minister said that these new MSc officers have expressed great satisfaction with the reception, hospitality and conditions during their stay in Belgrade.

AS the official representative of the Government of Algeria he expressed his gratitude for everything Serbia has done for the education of young officers, but also for the efforts of both countries invested in the area of joint cooperation.

Minister Medelci took this occasion to express his admiration for the beauty of the Great Hall of the old War General stressing this as an example of great influence every army has on its people.

The best postgraduate student lieutenant Kijara Mulud who holds an MSc with an average score of 10, thanked the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and scientific institutions for enabling them to obtain new academic titles, but also for the relationship that has helped them feel like they were part of their collective. He said the atmosphere for learning, accommodation and all other conditions were very good. Lieutenant Mulud said that during training he and his colleagues had gained very good both practical and theoretical knowledge that they would use in future projects.

Algérie-Serbie : Signature d'un accord de coopération dans le domaine de la défense

L'Algérie et la Serbie ont procédé hier à Alger à la signature d'un accord de coopération dans les domaines de la défense à l'occasion de la visite officielle qu'effectue en Algérie le ministre serbe de la Défense, M. Dragane Stuanovac.

L'Algérie et la Serbie ont procédé hier à Alger à la signature d'un accord de coopération dans les domaines de la défense à l'occasion de la visite officielle qu'effectue en Algérie le ministre serbe de la Défense, M. Dragane Stuanovac.

L'accord a été signé au siège du ministère de la Défense nationale par le ministre délégué auprès du ministre de la Défense nationale, M. Abdelmalek Guenaizia, et M. Dragane Stuanovac.

Le ministre serbe est arrivé mardi à Alger à la tête d'une importante délégation pour une visite officielle de trois jours en Algérie.

Défense : l’Algérie et la Serbie renforcent leur coopération

Le président de la Serbie, Boris Tadic, effectuera une visite officielle en Algérie au cours du premier semestre de l’année 2012, a annoncé, hier soir à Alger, le ministre serbe de la Défense, Dragan Sutanovac.

Dans une déclaration à la presse à l’issue de l’audience que lui a accordée le président Bouteflika, M. Sutanovac a souligné que les relations algéro-serbes ont atteint ces quatre dernières années un ” très haut niveau “, notamment dans le domaine de l’industrie de défense et de l’industrie militaire.

Il a relevé, à ce sujet, que l’Algérie se place en première position dans la coopération militaire que la Serbie entretient avec les autres pays du monde. M. Sutanovac a indiqué que la Serbie appuie les efforts de l’armée algérienne qui est ” en phase de réforme et de modernisation “.
